THE SECOND ACT: Clothing and Accessories Designer Briian Dargon

"With any part you play, there is a certain amount of yourself in it. There has to be, otherwise it's not just acting, it's lying"- Johnny Depp

Briian Dargon, the noted clothing and accessories designer has begun to tell a different kind of story by pursuing a life long dream of becoming an actor.

Briian who will use Briian David ( his first and middle name) professionally, says that as long as he can remember, he's wanted to be an actor.

His first foray was an open audition for the New Mickey Mouse Club in 1977 that he snuck to after his Grandmother forbade him to go. Briian says jokingly "it was an eye opener, when I arrived and they called my name, they asked me who was I represented by? did I have a headshot? resume? did I have a parent with me?". I was like a deer caught in headlights, I had absolutely no clue what they were talking about, all I knew is that I had the desire. My Grandmother upon finding out that I disobeyed her promptly closed my eye, that's the joke, although I did get a wedged heeled shoe thrown at me (another joke).

Briian went on to secure employment with several record labels including SONY (Gospel division Harmony Records) as well as Notation Music Publishing wherein he received a credit on Rosie O'Donnell's Compilation Christmas Album.

Additionally, Briian delved back into film in 2008 when  he worked as a background actor and part of the production crew for the independent film "AFTER PARTY BABIES" directed by Henry Cruz.

After a few other false starts, fast forward to 2015 and having only taken acting classes for five weeks Briian had secured his first acting role in an independent feature film entitled "THE RAGING BOOM" playing Chief of Detectives Simoin. The film was written and directed by Mahogany B.

Briian says he doesn't subscribe to the idea that you have to have one thing you love and that he has to choose between designing and acting. "I consider myself an artist and I feel that I had no choice in that so why should I have to choose how I express it?. This is a huge deal to me, and I understand how fortunate I am to be entrusted with the responsibility of bringing this character to life and I don't take it for granted".

We wish him luck in his future artistic  endeavors.
